Health, Wealth and Happiness

New years day is my favorite part of the holiday season. I love Christmas, but to me, the build up to it is what makes it special. Especially now that Christmas day is also a birthday in our family, we are completely wiped out by the time the 26th rolls around. After the excess and the clutter, it is extremely satisfying to take down the Christmas stuff and find a home for new presents on the 26th. Then New Years Eve, you get to reminisce about the year, celebrate with friends, toast champagne all night and best of all, start with a completely clean slate the next day.
This year, PJO and I went with friends to a murder mystery dinner near our house and had a great time. It was a little cheesy but we spent the night with people we love hanging out with. Then this morning we snuggled both kids in our bed before enjoying our beautiful 75 degree weather. Perfect start to the new year.
Of course, resolutions are my favorite part of the fresh start. Last year I gave up soda and I haven't had a sip of it all year. I need concrete, easy to judge goals like that in order to stick to it. So for this year, I resolve to have dinner prepared at home at least five nights a week and always include some sort of vegetable. I was going to limit (yes, limit not allow) myself to one serving of dessert per day, but I already failed that one.
We have some bigger goals and more lofty aspirations, but this one will be easy to grade 12 months from now.

What are your resolutions? Happy New Year to all!
