The Funny Thing About The End

It's like everyone, even strangers, all of the sudden got a memo that you're having a baby soon and maybe they should remind you. Maybe it's because I am finally venturing out in public, or maybe it's because I'm that much closer to 9 months pregnant and look like I want to talk about it, but I really can't go ANYWHERE without eliciting a comment like "oh, you're pregnant!" or "wow, when are you due?" or "twins?" When I don't sign into gmail for a day, all my friends ask if I went into labor. When I don't respond to text messages right away, they call my house phone to see if I'm ignoring them or at the hospital. My mom suddenly started calling me every day for no reason at all.
I expected this when I made it to my due date without a baby, but not two weeks before that. I let out a deep, unhappy sigh every time someone asks me, but no one seems to get the hint. When I yell at them bluntly demanding that "they not fucking ask me about the baby, I will tell them when it happens!!" they think I'm joking. Oh well.

We had a busy weekend... our apartment is decorated for Christmas. We completed our baby care class (aka the way overpriced 4 hour Saturday afternoon with someone telling you mostly common sense stuff, but you do it anyway because you're a first time parent and you're paranoid that if you don't, there will be some vital parenting knowledge missing from your repertoire).
We also bought a car for PJO! He has been taking the bus to work for almost four months, which is a pretty big deal in LA (in the sense that almost no one takes public transportation, partly because it's terrible). It's nice and pretty and roomy and family-sedan-ish but not TOO family-sedan-ish. We're excited.
